It may be recalled that in mid-August, the HC had granted the GCZMA six weeks time to decide on the same after GCZMA had asked for a period of two months time.

On Friday, the GCZMA informed the HC that six weeks time would mean by end of September, following which the HC has fixed October 1 as the date for issuing the final order.

Earlier this week, the GCZMA held its final hearing with all parties concerned, where it had stated that it would give its decision on the showcause notice soon.

The Vainguinim Valley Residents Association (VVRA) had earlier approached the HC against the construction and is now seeking that it be demolished.

The GCZMA has held three inspections of the construction, the first two in April and the third one in June but even after holding multiple hearings, it is yet to take any decision on the matter.
