PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Wednesday quashed and set aside the order of Panjm Additional Session Court directing Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) to register an FIR against former IGP Sunil Garg in the alleged bribery case.
The High Court observed that sanction is a must to register an FIR against a government official.
Recently, the High Court had asked complainant Halwai to produce documents in the case as Garg had challenged the order of a lower court directing ACB to register an FIR.
Halwai had complained to ACB that Garg has demanded and accepted Rs 5.5 lakh to register an FIR at Ponda Police Station and had submitted an audio recording of the conversation between Garg and himself.
