MARGAO: Hearing of the Moti Dongor hutment case will come up before the High Court on Monday, even as officials here said the fate of the illegal hutments will depend on the outcome of the application filed by the hutment dwellers.
The High Court had granted stay on the demolition of the 210 illegal structures after the petitioners led by Maulla Balbatti knocked the doors of HC against the demolition orders passed by the South Goa Administrator of Comunidades, Sangeeta Naik.
The Administrator had granted 10 days time to the hutment dwellers to clear the illegal structures on their own, but before the Administrator could initiate action, the dwellers moved the High Court and obtained a stay.
Incidentally, District Collector, N D Agrawal had last week held a meeting with various government agencies, including the PWD, electricity and the demolition squad to put in place a mechanism to raze down the structures in the event the high court vacates the stay on the demolition process.
