PANJIM: It was the perfect end to a perfect evening for housie winners who rushed to claim prizes no sooner the HCN Live Housie ended at the Inox Courtyard on Saturday night.
People remained glued to their seats till the end. The winners went home smiling, while those who weren’t lucky had their wholesome share of entertainment.
It was a wonderful evening to see artists, musicians, and housie lovers come together to enjoy the Live HCN Housie as the chief guest Panjim Mayor, Surendra Furtado praised the Herald Group for enriching lives through its publications
“I congratulate the Herald Group, it is my family,” he said.
Guest of honour Eliza Dias, a ward nurse of GMC and recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award 2013 was part of the gala evening.
Before the grand finale ~ the live Housie ~ the 3-hour-long gala evening kept the crowds grooving with some scintillating performances by noted artistes in the field of dance, music and comedy.
Pranav and Gautami Hede kickstarted the evening with their renditions of recent Bollywood hit tracks followed by some famous Goan numbers by Cassy.
The great Emiliano Da Cruz junior ~ Zubin got the crowd all teary eyed with his emotionally-filled songs.
Konkani and Goans cannot be separated and it was just the right time when Comedian Jesus made the crowd burst into laughter with his comedy, which also sent some strong messages.
Juje Fernandes went with Konkani beat, singing some of his own Konkani pop songs and William D’Souza was at his best, drumming away on his vessels, bat… creating rhythm.
Unbeatable Dance Academy students and the Wockeez Dance Troupe left the crowd wanting for more with their scintillating, synchronised and stylish dance performance.
The main highlight of the evening was Goan Pop Singer O’Luv Rodrigues’ performance which left the audience tapping their feet with some hit Goan Songs and also from his new album ‘Love You, Goa.’
Young drummer Ackley Araujo along with dad Francis Araujo and musician Prannoy enthusiastically played along.
