PANJIM: Suspended Head Constable Vaman Naik, accused of sexually exploiting two sex workers, failed to get respite from the Court as his bail plea was yet again rejected by the District & Sessions Court Friday.

Naik had applied for bail before the Court, a second time, weeks after the same court rejected his bail plea. The fresh application was submitted based on new evidence produced earlier this week.

His counsel Amit Palekar said they will move the High Court of Bombay at Goa challenging the bail rejection.

The two rescued sex workers, who exposed the nexus last December, identified Naik during an identification parade while he was in judicial custody.

Two other personnel ~head constable Santosh Vengurlekar and constable Vijay Gaikwad, were also suspended on the same charge though they are still to be arrested by the Crime Branch.
