VASCO: Over hundred locals from the Headland Sada and Jetty area submitted a memorandum to police stations, Deputy Collector Mormugao on Monday and demanded that strict action and an inquiry be initiated against one Mormugao councillor, for his alleged involvement as an agent in the Nu Shi Nalini vessel matter. However, the councillor claimed he was being made a scapegoat and termed it as a ‘political stunt’ and added that a proper investigation should take place, wherein the ‘truth should come out.’
The locals also accused the NGO, which has been highlighting the issue, of failing to mention the councillor’s name and only targeting on minister. They also criticised Congress State Chief Girish Chodankar for keeping mum on the councillor’s alleged involvement.
