VASCO: The much awaited market complex-cum-community hall project at Headland Sada has hit a roadblock.

Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Arvind Bugde said “The completion certificate for the project needs to be obtained from the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA). The conversion and sanad issues have not been resolved. Once these issues are sorted out then the project can be made operational.”

It is pertinent to note that the work on the project commenced in 2016 and was expected to be ready by 2018. Almost all works have been completed.

It is learnt that after GSUDA pays the transfer fee of Rs 22,000 to MPDA, only then the project will come under the MMC’s ambit.

According to available information, GSUDA’s website mentions that the expenditure incurred on this project is Rs 2,30,85,304.  Sources informed that the project will house vegetable vendors, fish vendors, hawkers, and others. The building is expected to have gymnasium, community hall and other shops.
