PONDA: The Ponda Health Department has taken measures to prevent mosquito breeding and spread of dengue during monsoon.
Fogging was conducted in various parts of the town and across the taluka, and awareness campaigns were held. The department inspected construction sites and alerted the people to clear stagnant water.
The locals were urged to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of water from open utensils to prevent mosquito breeding.
A health official said last month soon after the commencement of monsoon there were some suspected dengue cases reported in Ponda, Dharbandora and various PHCs, luckily the patients recovered soon, however the Health Department continued its awareness to fight against probable spread of the disease.
He said the team of health visited various parts of town and the team of Betki PHC conducted fogging at interior parts of taluka, including Savoi Verem.
In June, health centres reported suspected dengue cases. These include four in Betki, two in Ponda, three in Shiroda, two in Marcaim, and a few in Dharbandora.
