Even though the project is on PPP basis, the functioning of the hospital will be under control of DHS,” the Minister said, while adding that the government is committed to commence the operation of the hospital as soon as possible.
Rane said that the hospital, which would be commissioned once handed over to DHS by GSIDC, will provide additional tertiary facilities to the people of South Goa.
He also said that government is in the process of appointing a consultant to work out proposal for setting up the medical college, which is as per the policy of NITI Ayog. “Everything is as per the guidelines laid down by the Central government. We are following the guidelines which are out in public domain. Another medical college will help us to get additional MBBS seats,” said Rane, while adding that currently there are 150 seats allotted at GMC.
