The Directorate of Food and Drugs is gearing up to host the much-anticipated “Eat Right Mela” Healthy and Nutritious Food Festival on April 5th, 2024. Set against the backdrop of Ravindra Bhavan Margao, this event aims to raise awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and lifestyle choices.
With lifestyle disorders on the rise due to factors like unhealthy eating, stress, and sedentary routines, the initiative seeks to recalibrate societal norms towards embracing a healthier way of life. Recognizing the pivotal role of diet in overall well-being, the festival will showcase an array of nutritious delights prepared by Goa’s finest culinary maestros.
Nutritionists will be on hand to offer expert guidance and insights, facilitating meaningful interactions with attendees keen on adopting healthier eating habits. The festival will feature around 20 specially curated food stalls, each offering a diverse selection of wholesome treats and culinary innovations.
Moreover, the event promises to be a feast for the senses, with live music performances by renowned local bands and captivating cultural programs adding to the festive atmosphere. Highlighting the culinary prowess of Goa, a competition for professional chefs will further elevate the gastronomic experience, showcasing inventive and nutritious culinary creations.
Director Jyoti S. Sardesai launched a promotional campaign for the event at the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, South Goa branch, underscoring the importance of community participation. Inviting citizens from all walks of life to partake in this celebration of healthy eating, the festival is slated to commence at 5:00 pm and continue until 10:00 pm, promising an evening of indulgence without compromise on health.
