Hearing on plea to allow Covid vaccinated persons on July 12

PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has adjourned to July 12, the hearing into a Miscellaneous Civil Application (MCA) filed by the State government seeking permission to allow fully vaccinated persons into Goa without a COVID-19 negative certificate.

The MCA came up for hearing on Thursday as the Court noted that the Experts Committee recommended permitting inbound travelers from other places in the country holding authentic final Covid vaccination certificate, without insisting on COVID testing report. “If the Expert Committee has said, let us consider it. However, this is not our final opinion,” Justice M S Sonak heading the Division Bench said while granting permission to the respondent parties to file any objection to the MCA.

Advocate General Devidas Pangam, during the brief hearing, told the Court that the government does not seek relaxation for international travellers who will have to mandatorily produce COVID-19 negative certificate.

The Goa government on Wednesday submitted the plea before the High Court seeking a slight modification to the order by allowing fully vaccinated persons into Goa without a negative certificate.
