PANJIM: Vibrant Goa is an international event and it is a wonderful event that the State has been able to project to the prospective investors who are visiting the state from nearly 53 countries to search for opportunities. However, certain basic infrastructure, which was expected, seemed missing even though the effort to market and bring up this event was commendable.
About 550 international delegates are attending this event and exploring ways to invest in the state. Dressed in business suits and formal attire many delegates were found fanning themselves with brochures, which were distributed by the exhibitors, as the air conditioning systems were down and the humidity added further woes to their misery. They expressed their displeasure politely but never wanted to be quoted.
Yes, the venue which came free for the organisers – Vibrant Goa Foundation, which did not have any control over this appalling misery, did hear from about 2,500 people who were attending this event that they were found gasping for the working air conditions vents, which was never to be seen. In fact, it was an embarrassment for the State where the Chief Minister is having its camp office, as for many international delegates it was a “rude shock”.
For an international conference the basic needs is the comfort for work area, food court and even washrooms which needs special attention from the government of Goa, if they wish to make the stay of the their guest comfortable. However, the good news is that the complaint was promptly taken care off in the second half of the inauguration and emergency efforts were made to restore the shortfalls.
