PANJIM: After a dry spell for almost the entire last week; Goa is likely to get heavy rains till July 2 as Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa has predicted heavy rains at isolated places. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightening are likely at isolated places on Monday, June 29.
The IMD has also issued warning to the fishermen not to venture into the sea during this period. “Strong winds with wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph are likely to prevail over Southwest and adjoining West-central Arabian sea on June 28, 29 and 30; and July 1-2. Squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail over Southeast and adjoining East-central Arabian Sea on June 28-29. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the above period,” reads the weather warning for high sea and other coasts.
