MAYEM: Heavy rains disrupted normal life in Bicholim taluka on Sunday, even as the water levels of the Bicholim and Valvanti rivers in Sanquelim and Bicholim have risen.
According to WRD Officer K P Naik, the water levels of the Bicholim and Valvanti rivers in Sanquelim and Bicholim have risen up to 10 meters, but there is no danger.
Sources informed that due to heavy rains, authorities opened a gate of the Anjunem dam and released water.
Meanwhile, normal life was disrupted in Bicholim taluka, as roads were inundated, while Bicholim fire personnel rescued cattle which fell in a trench in Sanquelim.
