PANJIM: While the government is presenting a rosy picture of infrastructure development in the State, the capital city of Panjim is crying for attention.
The city of Panjim was totally submerged under water after heavy down power with the areas on the 18 June Road, Near Miramar circle and interior including the D B Marg, M G Road were all flooded.
The Panjim MLA Babush Monserrate along with the CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar visited the affected areas and apologised to the the people to bear with them this monsoon.
Monserrate said the damage has already been done by the Smart City and the GSIDC by digging in the capital.
“I apologise to the people of Panjim for the floods but I am sure that they will not have to bear with the situation next monsoons,” he said
The Panjim MLA said that the situation has arise as there was no coordination between the different government agencies.
