Heavy vehicles barred on Chorla road

PANJIM: In a bid to ease vehicular traffic and prevent accidents at Chorla Ghat, the State government has barred movement of heavy vehicles along the road stretch from Goa side for a period of six months.
The Chorla Ghat road is extensively used since the diversion of Goa-Belgaum vehicular traffic via Chorla due to the ongoing expansion work on the section of the Anmod Ghat leading to heavy traffic jams. 
The prohibited entry and plying of heavy commercial vehicles is with effect from March 20 to September 30, 2019. Following are the routes barred by North Collectorate for heavy vehicles.
+ From Dattawadi, Sankhali junction to end of the Goa State border on the Goa-Belgaum State Highway No 1 on the Chorla Ghat.
+ From PHC Sankhali junction to end of the Goa State border on State Highway No1 on Chorla Ghat.
+ Honda Junction to end of the Goa State border on State Highway No 1 on Chorla Ghat.
