VALPOI: Many old electric poles in Hedode village are in perilous position and may fall down anytime. The villagers have complained to the local panchayat of the poles’ bad conditions and also asked the Panchayat body to replace them, but no one is taking any action, say villagers.
“In our village many electric poles are very old and all are in bad shape and may come down any time. And now being the rainy season, the winds are very strong and the poles are likely to come down on the road or our houses and create problems to the villagers. We demand the Electricity Department replace the poles immediately to avoid problems,” says Bhanudas Salelkar, a villager.
“We have already informed the Electricity Department, Valpoi and also written a letter but the officers are not taking any action,” says Parag Khadilkar, Sarpanch, Nagargao Panchayat.
