MARGAO: Colva police on Tuesday night arrested one Ivon Pereira, hailing from Khanapur, Belgaum, and working at a hotel in Colva, on the charge of outraging the modesty of a Russian woman under section 354 of IPC.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the accused, who works in the housekeeping section of the hotel, entered the room of the Russian woman on Tuesday at 11 pm. The Russian complained that the accused entered her room using the duplicate master card for opening the room door. Pereira who was produced before Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao, has been remanded to three days police custody. Further investigation in the case is being conducted by HC Suraj Asawle.
