MAPUSA: Dev Bodgeshwar Xerkari Sangh has given Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant 24 hours to compensate the farmer whose land was damaged by the constructing the helipad overnight.
The Sangh slammed the government for failing to develop Mapusa and for getting the helipad ready overnight.
Dev Bodgeshwar Xerkari Sangh President Sanjay Barde said, “We are giving Chief Minister 24 hours to compensate the farmer whose land has been damaged by constructing the helipad.”
“This is the first time in the history of Goa that within 24 hours a helipad has come up in Mapusa. All these years, people have been pleading for development with the BJP government. This is a complete waste of taxpayers’ money. One can learn from the BJP government on how to waste taxpayers’ money. Around Rs 50-60 lakh have been spent on the helipad and now they are demolishing it,” Barde said.
“BJP is only looting the people of Goa. Land owner Kalpana Pednekar, who is a farmer, was not even informed by any authority before cutting the mango trees. They should have taken No Objection Certificate before carrying out the helipad work but they failed to do so. Helipad constructed in one of the fields by cutting two coconut trees has damaged a nursery. If they can construct a helipad within hours then why they failed to develop Mapusa for the past several years. The government should compensate the farmer within 24 hours. I appeal to the people to vote out the BJP to protect Goa,” Barde urged.
Barde said a complaint has been filed with Mapusa Police and Deputy Collector.
Kalpana Pednekar said, “None of the authorities informed her or sent her a notice. Coconut trees were cut down, my nursery and hoarding were damaged causing loss of lakhs of rupees.”
