Helmets, caps banned from ATM centres

PANJIM: Persons wearing helmets, caps, monkey caps, sunglasses or anything that hides their identity will not be allowed to enter ATM centres.

PANJIM: Persons wearing helmets, caps, monkey caps, sunglasses or anything that hides their identity will not be allowed to enter ATM centres. This was decided at a high-level security meeting of almost 52 bank officials and Goa Police officers on Friday.
A few other security measures have also been unanimously agreed upon at the meeting and will be implemented within 30 days, Crime Branch SP Karthik Kashyap told media persons after the meeting.
Kashyap said that all incidents of fraudulent withdrawal of cash are due to lapses by bankers. “Inadequate security, no camera, no proper positioning of cameras, no constant monitoring and delay in providing footage to the investigating agency are some of the lapses. The delay in providing footage has led to the person continuing the crime,” Kashyap said.
Banks have agreed to ask the security guard and the person who loads the cash in the machine to inspect the machine daily to check for any extra chip or camera or device fitted to the ATM.
