VASCO: All councillors from Mormugao Municipal Council to get the liquid for the purpose of fumigation to clear mosquito breeding and to counter rising cases of Dengue in some areas of Vasco.
“To counter Dengue and other cases, every councillor will get liquid for fumigation purpose along with the required fuel, etc which is used for the fogging machine,” said Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Damodar Kaskar, on Tuesday.
He also said that every year the fumigation takes place and this year too all councillors will be requested to do the fumigation in their wards.
Later, ward 20 councillor Yatin Kamurlekar said that there have been few cases of Dengue detected in his ward and to avoid its spread, awareness among the people fumigation will be done.
He further said that on Tuesday he, along with the Urban Health centre doctors, visited his ward and identified the places wherein Dengue mosquito breeding has taken place.
“We also explained to people of the ward how Dengue is spread and carried out fumigation in some areas. We will be doing a complete fumigation of entire ward,” said Kamurlekar.
