MARGAO: The COVID-19 lockdown has posed various policing problems especially in slum areas and in the places with maximum violations.
To help the police in this regard, Varad Karmali, proprietor of Dronacharya, Professional RC drone services has lent his drone and piloting services to the men in khaki for a social cause.
Varad, who has done professional drone piloting for other sectors and the police together have mapped and policed various locations in Goa to prevent lockdown violations.
Thanking the Police Department for accepting his service for social cause, Varad informed that he along with police has mapped areas of Kharebandh, Zuarinagar, Sirvodem, Housing Board and others. “The aerial mapping of the areas has helped the police in deciding the entry and exit of the places that need to be barricaded”.
Varad and police with the drone have even dispersed a huge crowd in Zuarinagar that was playing volleyball in groups.
Varad said, “The drones have instilled fear among the people from violating lockdown norms”.
Varad has 5 drones and has been flying drones for the last 3 years. He wishes to continue serving the Goa Police during the lockdown.
Varad has urged MLAs, public representatives and corporates to come ahead to raise funds individually or under CSR by helping the police in similar aerial surveys across Goa.
