‘Hiking tax on liquor will not affect tourism’

VASCO: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral has appreciated the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for hiking tax on liquor.

He opined that this move would not affect Goa’s tourism but instead would help local liquor shops.

Minister speaking to the reporters said that 

“Tourists come to Goa looking at its natural beauty and beaches. It is a misconception that people come here to drink,” he said adding that liquor rates in Goa are the seventh cheapest in the country.
