PANJIM: The 150th book titled ‘Thattha Varaathirikkilla’, a collection of short stories written by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai was released at a function held at the Alexander Marthoma Hall, Tiruvalla, Kerala on Saturday.
On the occasion, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi was the chief guest and released the book in the presence of Pillai, Most Rev Dr Theodosius Marthomas Metropolitan, Kerala MP Anto Antony, MLA Mathew T Thomas and former Union Minister O Rajagopal.
The Tamil Nadu Governor presented the copy of the new book to Most Rev Dr Theodosius Marthomas Metropolitan.
Speaking on the occasion, Pillai said that nowadays reading habits among youth was declining and due to which our cultural family relations was also getting affected.
He called upon the need to inculcate more and more reading habits among youth.
Kerala Agriculture Minister P Prasad, Professor and Literary Critic Dr Sreeshailam Unikrishnan, Most Rev Dr Theodosius Marthomas Metropolitan and R N Ravi also spoke.
The speakers praised Sreedharan Pillai for releasing his 150 books during his 50 years of creativity.
They said that Pillai is a poet, prolific writer. orator and lawyer besides being a former politician and administrator.
Pillai has been writing books both, in English and in his mother tongue Malayalam with ease and dexterity on topics close to his heart such as politics, social, legal issues and poetry.
Earlier, N M Raju, chairman, NCS Group District President. Kerala Congress welcomed the gathering and later, NCS Joint Managing Director Alan George proposed a vote of thanks.
