The lives of two brothers were cut short in a devastating hit-and-run incident at Arambol, as a Maruti Swift car’s door was carelessly opened, leading to a fatal collision. The victims, identified as rider Sahil Shankar Naik (19) and pillion Deep Dilip Naik (22), both residents of Arambol, succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The driver of the Rent-A-Car and the truck involved in the accident have been apprehended by authorities.
The tragic incident took place when the driver of a Maruti Swift car unexpectedly opened the door without checking for oncoming traffic. Sahil Naik (19), riding an Activa scooter, collided with the open door. The impact caused Sahil Naik to crash onto the road and tragically come under the wheels of a passing truck. Sahil and Deep sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
Despite medical efforts, both brothers succumbed to their injuries during treatment, leaving the community in shock and grief. Mandrem police swiftly registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused Swift and Truck driver, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
The swift response of the authorities led to the apprehension of the Rent-A-Car and truck driver involved in the tragic incident. Legal proceedings are expected to follow as the investigation continues.
