CANACONA: A five-year old pre-primary student Nihar Naik from Rajbagh-Canacona, who was undergoing treatment after being hit by a van while crossing the road at Mateamoll-Cola, succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
According to available information, the accident reportedly occurred after 12.30 pm on Monday.
Sources informed that the boy, accompanied by his grandfather, was crossing the road at Mateamoll in Cola when he was hit by a van. He sustained serious head injuries and was shifted to Canacona Health Centre and later to private hospital at Margao where he succumbed to his injuries. Canacona police informed that driver of the van has been arrested for rash and negligent driving.
