VALPOI: The repair works of Hivrem village Government Primary School has still not been completed. The roof of school is open and the toilet for school children is not yet build.
The school has already begun after the summer vacations and yet the repair works are not completed. The contractor is not seen on work site; only two-three workers are seen working in their own pace making the renovation works to lag more, said Hivrem villagers.
According to villagers for the last five months they have been demanding the government to do finish the repairing works of the school. But none of their request were been heard at that time and as in now the government have started the work in the upcoming monsoon season.
As neither the school management nor the villagers are aware of completion of works, the parents and teachers association had held a meeting. The contractor was not present for the meeting. The site engineer present for the meeting have intimated the villagers, school teachers that the repair works will be completed within next two months.
The villagers have asked the state government to complete the repair works within this month (June) itself and have also asked the Chief Minister to look into this matter on a priority basis.
