Hoble pays Rs 10 lakh fine

PANJIM: BJP Vice President Anil Hoble on Friday made the payment of Rs 10 lakh fine imposed on him by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and has sought time to pay the balance Rs 10 lakhs.

The Tiswadi Mamlatdar Sapna Bandodkar has given Anil Hoble 15 days time to pay up the balance.
The NGT on May 29, 2015 while ordering the demolition of the illegal structures of Hoble which was constructed in violation of various provisions of the environmental laws had also directed him to pay a fine of 20 lakhs for destroying mangroves and doing illegal land filling.
Anil Hoble lost his last ditch battle to save his illegal structures with the Supreme Court on October 7 dismissing his appeal and upholding the NGT order to demolish the illegal structures including the Hoble River Lounge Bar and Restaurant on Ribandar cause way.
The allegations made by the complainant while filing it at the Vigilance have been replied to by the South Goa Animal Welfare Trust.
