PORVORIM: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Thursday stated that the State government should summon fortnight long or a month long Assembly session before conducting the Zilla Parishad elections to bestow confidence in the mind of voters against the fear of getting infected by COVID-19 during polls.
“Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant should give an undertaking to the people that the government will shoulder the responsibility if there is any spike in the number of cases after Zilla Parishad polls.
“The BJP government should understand the pulse of the people. People are angry over the governance. Our demand for Assembly session has not been respected,” Khaunte claimed.
