Holes on Moira bridge

PORVORIM: Gaping holes have developed on the busy Moira bridge which is a vital link to other villages such as Nachinola, Aldona, Corjuem and to Mapusa town.

These holes are lying unattended with the Public Works department failing to act for several weeks, even as the bridge which witnesses heavy traffic on a daily basis.
One can see the water beneath the bridge through these holes. If PWD does not do a thorough check and these holes are not fixed immediately, it can cause major hardships tot he daily commuters and vehicular traffic.
The bridge connects the villages of Moira, Nachinola, Aldona, Corjuem etc to commercial town of Mapusa and urgent repairs of this bridge is of utmost importance. 
When contacted the Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo stated that he is aware about those holes on Moira bridge. He has advised the Public Works department to carry out the inspection of the bridge immediately and do the needful. 
PWD has informed him that it is not a major problem and those holes could be fixed. Since so far, the PWD has not acted, Ticlo said would remind them once again.
