VASCO: The Holi celebration on Tuesday turned tragic after two persons were drowned in separate incidents in the port town.
An unidentified male person aged around 45-50 years drowned at Baina Beach while, 18-year-old Sushrut Satardekar of Sada drowned at sea near Japanese Garden after going for a swim in the sea with his friends following Holi celebrations. Satardekar was taken out by lifeguard and rushed to sub-district hospital at Chicalim, where he was declared brought dead.
The Mormugao Police conducted the panchanama and have preserved the bodies for post-mortem examination.
The Mormugao Police have registered both the cases as unnatural deaths under Section 174 CrPC and PSI Aditya Naik Gaonkar is conducting further investigation under PI Raghoba Kamat and Mormugao SDPO Salim Shaikh.
