MAPUSA: Holiday Club, Arpora, registered a fluent 3-1 win over Verem United Sports Club in the GFA’s Division III League Bardez Zone match played at Siolim ground, on Tuesday.
Both the teams played almost on equal footing in the first session only to find Mayopam Rumthad opened the account in the 40th minute of play with a neat placement, 1-0.
On resumption of play, Holiday Club colts held the upper-hand and pumped in two more goals through the boots of Cyrus D’Souza and Ray D’Souza.
Verem United SC managed to pull a goal in the 90th minute through Raju Satardekar 3-1.
At Quitula ground, Siddeshwar Sports and Cultural Club proved to be too good as they trounced Kebai SC by 6-0 margin.
The highlight of the match was a brilliant hat-trick by Anup Bhaimaikar.
Mohammad Pathan had drew the first blood with Saiel Bhaimaikar and Nikhil Kholkar adding their names to the scorer’s list for the winners.
At Moira ground, El Shaddai S&C managed to edge past United Club Nerul SC by 2-1 margin.
It was Namresh K, who scored for UC Nerul SC colts in the 40th minute of play.
On crossing ends, Manjunath and Marvoti scored twice to give full points for Eli Shaddai S&C.
