Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha informed on Tuesday that the Hollant beach in Issorcim will wear a new look as the State government has decided to beautify and illuminate the place. She said that Hollant beach would also have toilets and changing rooms while the façade of heritage fort on the other side of the beach would be also be restored. The beach is a famous picnic spot for the locals. Alina was speaking to reporters after inspecting and reviewing the ongoing developmental works at Hollant beach along with ward Panch Nandita Dayal and others. “We have already prepared plans for the Hollant beach. Basic facilities such as toilets, changing rooms, electrification of the area including installation of high mast lights will be taken up as part of the proposed beautification plan for the beach,” Alina said. She said that the high-mast light needs to be erected at a place from where it can illumine the entire beach. She said that she has been informed that currently antisocial elements get together on the beach and to prevent the same. She said, the illumination work has been planned.
“Lighting the entire beach would help in reducing antisocial activities there.”
Similarly, facade of the fort will also be restored as part of the beautification plan,” Alina added.
