PANJIM: The retired staff members of the Holy Family Nazareth Educational Society were honoured for their valuable services in the field of education at Multipurpose Hall, Sancoale, recently.
St Michael Convent High school teachers conducted short prayer service on the theme “You Are A Blessing”. President Sr Alvita Gurjao sfn, welcomed. Perpetualites conducted the welcome dance.
Teachers namely Pia Carvalho, Sr Milena Mascarenhas sfn, Sanjivini B Parsekar, Laura Fernandes. Vilfa Martins, Sr Santana Goes, Evaristo B Fernandes and State awardee Sr Meena Dias for 29 years of service as a special educator were honoured.
An inter-school elocution competition for the teachers of the Society schools was organised on the topics “Constitutional Rights to Bring Peace” and Harmony in India” and “Healthy Living Ethical Teaching”.
The judges Maria Genesis D’Silva and Wilma Nora Henriques, declared Clancy Patricia D’Silva of St Thereza Convent HS and Saviola Vaz of Perpetual Succour Convent HS, winners with the first and second prize.
Teachers Marlette Viana and Lassica compered. Antonieta Noronha was the chief guest. Students of St Joseph Vaz High School closed the ceremony with a beautiful dance.
