ASSAGAO:
The Agarwadekars are have completely lost faith in the police who they said were
mute spectators and offered them no protection while their house was being
demolished by bouncers of a non Goan builder at Assagao. Forty eight hours
later they are still without a roof.
The
statement of the son and father who were kidnapped, beaten and thrown out of
the car, has still not been taken. The duo were pushed into a SUV by bounces
and thrown out at Anjuna after a six hour ordeal. Prinsha Agarwadekar told
media that they had paid the full money to the owner Chrys Pinto four years
ago, and had the receipt, but only the sale deed was not made since the father
of the family was sick. Meanwhile, the Vermas have claimed that they have a
sale deed.
Sources
stated that Pooja Verma the new owner of the property has purchased the
property from Chrys Pinto who lives in Duler and had a sale deed of the
property. On June 7th, 2024, she approached the Special
Investigation Team to state that the Agarwadekar were not vacating the house.
It appears that the Agarwadekar could not produce any proof of paying Rs 16
lakh for the house to the owner Chrys Pinto. The SIT had asked both parties to
settle the dispute amicably since it was a civil matter.
Siolim
MLA Delilah Lobo said that she had talked to the Police Inspector Sunday night.
On Monday she visited the Anjuna Police Station and talked to the PSI to take
up the matter seriously. She said that even if any Sharma or Verma had
purchased the property, they had to serve notice. They cannot demolish the
house. She said that notice had to be sent through the collector for any
demolition.
