PANJIM: In a bid to address long-standing concerns, the Honda gram sabha on Sunday resolved for early settlement of the 30 pending cases related to the Recognition of Forest Rights (RFC) under the Forest Rights Act.
The villagers, who have been grappling with the prolonged delay in the resolution of these cases for many years, expressed their frustration and demanded that the Forest Rights Committee take immediate action.
The long-standing concerns prompted the Saleli villagers to attend the gram sabha in large numbers and send a strong message to the authorities that they would take to the streets if their pleas were not resolved.
The gram sabha serves as a platform for community engagement and collaborative decision-making, emphasising the importance of addressing citizens’ concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
