PANJIM: As the market leader with 50 per cent share in the Indian automatic scooter segment, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) launched its first 110cc personal compact scooter offering – Activa i.
The Indian automatic scooter segment can be divided into three broad categories – moto scooter, family scooter and personal compact scooter. Honda was present only in the first two categories and with the new Activa i, it has now entered the personal compact category which contributes almost 25 per cent of automatic scooter sales in India.
Activa i has been specially developed for comfort and convenience with its long list of exclusive features including Combi Brake System which reduces braking distance by 24% compared to conventional brakes, tubeless tyres, maintenance-free battery, viscous air filter, a comfortable sitting posture and storage of 18 litres.
The compact and lean design is easy to handle in traffic. At 103kg, its lightweight design ensures a fatigue-free ride and ease of parking. It also has a high ground clearance of 165mm.
Honda’s technologically advanced 109 cc 4-stroke air-cooled engine comes with the revolutionary HET. Honda Eco Technology combines improved combustion, reduced friction and optimized transmission to achieve 60 kmpl.
The Activa i gives best-in-class net power of 5.83kw and a torque output of 8.74Nm @ 5500 RPM.
Available in Beige Metallic, Pearl Sunbeam White, Alpha Red Metallic and Purple Metallic, it is priced at Rs 45,913 ex-showroom, Goa.
