PANJIM: Another Goan student studying in war-torn Ukraine safely landed in New Delhi on Wednesday and would reach Goa within next two days.
Sudhanshu Salgudi, a student hailing from Honda, Sattari travelled from Ukraine to Delhi via Budapest, Hungary by a flight operated by the Government of India under ‘Operation Ganga.’

According to Commissioner for NRI Affairs Adv Narendra Sawaikar, out of total 19 Goan students studying in Ukraine, six have so far reached home. He said that one more Goan student will reach his homeland on Thursday while, two students have reached Romania and awaiting flight boarding. Also three students have reached Hungary and one student is in Poland, all waiting to board the flight.
Adv Sawaikar said that as per the location, two students are in Kharkiv and one student is in Sumy and they all are moving towards border. While, another three students are moving towards the border but they are unable to give their exact location. Their details will be disclosed once available, he said adding that efforts are on to repatriate all students.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that all Goan students stranded in Ukraine will be brought home safely within a day or two. He said that he has instructed Goa Sadan officials to receive them in Delhi, make their stay arrangements at Goa Sadan if needed and escort them from the Goa airport to their respective homes. He thanked the Government of India for its full support to bring back the stranded Goans.
