MARGAO: After Benaulim residents cried foul over the dumping of hotel waste in a roadside open space on Friday, the latter had to clear the same after the sarpanch intimated the hotel management.
Agitated residents led by members of the Garbage Management Committee Roque Fernandes intimated about the waste dumping to Sarpanch Royla Fernandes.
Inquiries revealed the waste had come from a starred hotel. When the sarpanch intimated the incident to the hotel management, they deputed a group of workers for clearance of the waste from the spot.
“When we intimated the matter to the management, they got the waste cleared. We hope such incidents will not be repeated,” she said.
