PANJIM: The hotels or accommodation units failing to submit the data would now be liable to a fine of Rs 10,000 at the first instance and a fine of Rs 25,000 for every subsequent default as per the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade (Amendment) Rules, 2022, notified by the Department of Tourism.
The government has now inserted Section 17, making submission of data of tourists residing in the hotels or other accommodation unit mandatory. The data has to be submitted on a monthly basis before 5th of month succeeding the month to which it pertains in electronic mode only as per the software developed by the Goa Electronics Limited, and in Form XI.
Those who do not submit statistics will be liable for a fine of Rs 10,000 for first default and a fine of Rs 25,000 for every subsequent default besides processing for different category of hotels which is to be paid annually.
No certificate of registration will be renewed unless such statistics is submitted and fine for defaulting period is paid by the hotels or accommodation units.
