A residential house at Fatorda fell victim to burglary for
the fourth time on Sunday morning. The house was under renovation when the
burglars broke into the house from the back door and destroyed the house from
inside. Despite providing ample clues and evidence, Fatorda police failed to
give justice to the house owner.
Melvin D’costa, who is the owner of the house, frequently
comes to visit his house at Fatorda, as it was under renovation all the way
from Borda. He claims that he had submitted the evidence and proof of the
culprit’s identity, but the police delayed solving the case. Due to their
negligent behaviour, a fourth burglary took place. As per the house owner, the
burglars used the same modus operandi in all four thefts.
“I pay a visit frequently to my house to keep track of
cleaning and renovation. Today I arrived a bit late. When I came here, I saw
that the back door was open. I went inside my house to check, but I saw
everything in a mess. I immediately called the local police and informed them
about the burglary. This is not the first time that I have experienced such an
incident. This is the fourth time that a burglary has taken place. Before this,
I had enough evidence to tell the police about the culprit. I had CCTV footage,
and the burglar had even dropped his phone, which contained all the information
they needed to catch the culprit. But they haven’t done anything yet,” said
Melvin.
After destroying the house door, the burglars stole all the utensils, speakers and other house items which were too big for the owner to carry it in his apartment at Borda.
The police had assured Melvin that the culprit would be
apprehended soon. The first complaint was filed on October 18, 2023. Almost
seven months have passed, and burglaries are still taking place at Melvin’s
residence. He has urged the authorities to solve the case and catch the culprit
immediately.
