Thieves decamp with booty worth Rs 80,000

Burglars decamped with gold ornaments and cash worth Rs 80,000 from a house at Rumdawada-Bogda, Vasco, on Thursday afternoon.
According to Mormugao police, some persons decamped with the booty from a house belonging to one Tukaram Shankar Sawant between 10 am and 1.30 pm. The occupant had gone to visit a doctor at the time of the burglary.
Police further informed that when Sawant returned from the clinic, he found the main door open and two cupboards were broke open.
The burglars decamped with two gold bangles, one gold chain, other gold items and cash around Rs 4,500, all worth Rs 80,000.
Mormugao police pressed the dog squad and finger print experts to get lead in the investigation. Police has registered a case of theft against unknown person and is investigating the case.
