SANGUEM: A portion of a house at Vakarwaddo in Sanguem collapsed on Sunday night leaving its owner homeless.
At the time of incident, the owner namely Laxman Savlo Naik’s was fast asleep. However, on hearing a loud noise, Naik ran out of the house thereby averting a major tragedy.
It is pertinent to note that another portion of his house had collapsed last monsoon and since then Naik, who hails from a very poor family, was eagerly awaiting for financial aid from the government to repair his house.
However, even after a year, Naik is still hoping against hope for some financial aid to pour in.
After receiving information of the house collapse, the Sanguem Mamlatdar officials visited Naik’s residence and conducted the panchanama.
Naik informed that last year too, the officials had conducted the panchanama and had sent the report to the higher officials for consideration.
However, till date, there is no reply from the government. A grieving Naik, who lost his mother 12 days ago, wonders whether this time he would get any support from the Government.
