VALPOI: A newly built house was totally gutted in fire caused by a short circuit early morning on Tuesday in Keri village.
“On Tuesday early in the morning, my house caught fire due to a short circuit. Seeing the fire, some of my neighbours had informed me and also the Valpoi Fire Station. But before the fire personnel could reach my house, it was already destroyed,” house owner Ganesh Majik said.
He said that cash, clothes, doors and windows were reduced to ash. “The loss of property is worth around Rs 5 lakh,” he added.
