House partially gutted at Mapusa

MAPUSA:  A house owned by one Saurabh Shirodkar was partially gutted in fire reported at Ansabhat, Mapusa, on Friday evening. 

According to the Mapusa Fire station, they received a call at 8.05 pm informing them about the incident. 

A team of fire personnel consisting of Sub Officer Dnyaneshwar Sawant, Suraj Shetgaonkar leading fire-fighter, Swapnesh Kalangutkar, Ashok Volvoikar and Dattaraj Chari rushed to the site and saw the kitchen on fire. Refrigerator, table fan, ceiling fan, door, chairs, dining table wall and other kitchen items were gutted. 

The owner claimed to have suffered a loss of Rs 1.25 lakh. However, the fire team managed to save goods worth Rs 15 lakh.

The owner informed that a short circuit led to the fire. However, the Mapusa Fire Station has forwarded a letter to the Electricity Department to find out the exact cause of fire.
