VASCO: A laptop and other household items worth about Rs 1 lakh were destroyed in a fire at a flat in Vasco on Tuesday morning.
Vasco fire officials received a call from Ulhas Rane of Arolkar Building in Vaddem-Vasco stating that his flat on the first floor had caught fire.
A fire brigade rushed to the site, but was unable to take the fire tender close to the building as the road was blocked by dumping of building construction material.
The fire officials further informed that they managed to douse the fire. A laptop, clothes and household items were destroyed in the fire. The fire officials have estimated the loss at about Rs 1 lakh and claimed to have saved property worth Rs 2 lakh.
The cause behind the fire is unclear as investigations are in progress.
