HPCC approves 71 proposals;likely to employ 8359 persons

PANJIM, JULY 23 About 71 proposals were approved by High Powered Co-ordination Committee (HPCC) in the last four years with a proposed investment of Rs 3655.78 crore and proposed employment potential of 8359 persons, informed Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in its written reply to a questioned tabled by Curchorem MLA, Shyam Satardekar during Question Hour on Friday.

About 71 proposals were approved by High Powered Co-ordination Committee (HPCC) in the last four years with a proposed investment of Rs 3655.78 crore and proposed employment potential of 8359 persons, informed Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in its written reply to a questioned tabled by Curchorem MLA, Shyam Satardekar during Question Hour on Friday.
As assured in the House in the last session Kamat, said reversion process for taking back plots allotted that were left unused, has been initiated.
Altogether 34 plots have been taken reverted for non-commissioning of projects whereas in case of two plots reversion process has been initiated and hundred show cause notices have been issued, he said.
Action will also be initiated against those who have not fully utilised full area of the plot. However, exception has been made in cases where industries have plans to put up plants at future date, he said further adding that the authorities have been asked to conduct survey to determine whether area of the plot allotted is used for landscaping and lawns and to take action in such cases.
Kakoda Industrial Estate: The Chief Minister assured Curchorem MLA the government will like to build a structure to house Auto Plaza and allot units to genuine applicants. He also requested the MLA in identifying genuine applicants as half of the applications received were not genuine and hence, there has been delay in allotting plots for Auto plaza.
