PANJIM: The Union Ministry for Human Resource Development (HRD) has allocated Rs 15.20 crore to Goa under its integrated scheme ‘Samagra Shiksha’ for 2018-19.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar took to social media to announce the allocation of the funds, which is higher compared to last year. For the financial year 2017-18, a fund of Rs 13.66 crore had been released to the State.
The scheme called ‘Samagra Shiksha”, is an integration of three components into which school education was divided earlier. Thus, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) – which took care of the school education at primary and secondary levels – and Teacher Training are now coalesced into one.
“An allocation of Rs 15.20 crore has been made for Goa in 2018-19 for Samagra Shiksha as compared to Rs 13.66 crore allocated or released to the State in 2017-18 for SSA, RMSA and TE together. More to come,” Minister tweeted.
