HSS lab asst booked for cheating bank

The Margao police have registered a case of cheating against a laboratory assistant employed with the higher secondary school for allegedly cheating an urban cooperative bank.
Margao PI Santosh Desai informed that the employee obtained loans from the Aquem and Margao branches of the bank by submitting salary certificate which did not reflect any deductions on account of loan repayments.
He said the police have received two complaints against the lab assistant from the bank managers after the accused failed to repay the loans.
“One is free to take many loans, but the deductions of loan repayments should reflect in the salary certificate. This was not complied in this instant case”, PI Desai said.
Meanwhile, the Margao police have registered a case of misappropriation against a manager of a city petrol pump for allegedly misappropriating Rs 1.6 lakh.
The manager is presently convalescing in the hospital after he was suddenly taken ill.
