Mapusa: A higher secondary school teacher was booked by the police on Wednesday for allegedly molesting girl students. Mapusa Police have booked the teacher under stringent sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Goa Children’s Act, 2005.
As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, a complaint was received from the management of a higher secondary school in North Goa, which stated that the accused male teacher allegedly stares, asks phone numbers of minor girl students, touches them inappropriately and also makes lewd gestures towards them.
In this connection upon receipt of complaint FIR under sections 509, 354-A, 354-D, Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act, and Section 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) has been registered. Further investigation is in progress.
